5 verses to read on Reformation Day

Read this from the biblegateway blog on 5 important verses to read on reformation day (Oct 31):

1)Romans 1:17

2)Ephesians 2:8

3)1 Peter 2:5

4)2Tim 3:16

5)Matthew 11:29-30

Excerpt from the blog:

on Romans 1:17

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” -niv

The famous reformer Martin Luther identified this verse as one of the key inspirations for his work. Luther saw in it (and in other verses, like Habakkuk 2:4) a powerful reminder that it is through faith in God’s grace, and not through good works, that humans are justified before God.

  1. Being a born again Christian and living for Our Lord is all about faith. Without faith we have nothing in religion. However when we live for Christ we feel and hear the spirit of Our Savior. He tells us things to do even when we wish he would not. Sometimes or usually his commands removes us from our comfort zone.
