Joseph Arimathaea gave his tomb to Jesus

Prophecy:

Isaiah 53:9

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  -kjv

He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.  -niv

They made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man at His death, although He had done no violence and had not spoken deceitfully.  -hcsb

Fulfilment:

Matthew 27:57-60

He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.  -niv

  1. Here on earth following a death nowadays we all are buried with the wicked because of the size of the cemeteries they contain both the believers and the non-believers….the dead body only. The moment we leave this world we are in heaven if we belong to Christ. While we get used to our new world in heaven we will know others there and they will know us. We as believers will not need to stand before God and be judged because we were Christians. The judgement is for the souls heading to hell. The book of Revelation written by John can be very confusing and they are many ideas what the passages mean. I am happy to say I am currently in my Sunday School class learning about “Heaven.” Even at my age I have learned so much since 99% of humans know almost nothing. I have learned so far that our first spirit bodies will eat food and spend most of our time praising Jesus. Even animals will be in heaven as JOHN tells the stories of the horsemen riding horses. This is the most serious decision we humans will make while on earth. Prepair to meet and live with God forever or suffer and burn forever in a lake of fire.

  2. The KJV version says “And he made his grave with the wicked, …. because he had done no violence, ….”

The NIV version says “He was assigned a grave with the wicked, … though he had done no violence, …”

The former version uses the word “because” as a connecting word, while the latter version uses the word “though”. These 2 connecting words give very different meaning. Which one is the correct ?

    • Personally, I trust the kjv more than the niv. Niv has been revised only recently, words have been replaced altering the meaning of the text.

    • kongwah, I do not have substantive evidence to show which version is better but I am just going with intuition. Some say kjv is the most reliable version while others say otherwise, I am sure you can find research resources over the internet. For me, I prefer the kjv as my main scripture while I read the niv and now the holsman christian standard bible for readability. I read those versions because I have been exposed to them through the churches that I attended in kjv and niv or recommendation of christian radio bible program host that I listen to now in hcsb.
